A direct-fit left or right hand door weatherstrip designed to restore a tight, factory-style seal at the door perimeter. This weatherstrip seal prevents water intrusion, wind noise, dust and vibration while improving cabin comfort and protecting interior trim. Molded from a weather-resistant rubber compound, it offers long-lasting flexibility, reliable compression set resistance, and easy installation for restoration or replacement projects where a dependable door seal is required.
Features:
- Left or right hand door weatherstrip — suitable as a direct replacement for door perimeter sealing
- Made from a weather-resistant rubber compound for long-lasting flexibility and compression recovery
- Seals out water, wind, dust and road noise to improve cabin comfort
- Helps protect interior trim and door components from moisture damage
- Designed for straightforward installation during restoration or routine replacement
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the door and locate the existing weatherstrip. If necessary, remove any interior trim or clips that obstruct access.
- Carefully pull out the old weatherstrip. Remove any retained clips and scrape away old adhesive or debris from the sealing channel.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door perimeter to confirm orientation (left or right) and fit. Trim excess length if required using a utility knife.
- If the new seal uses adhesive backing, peel the release liner and press the seal firmly into place along the channel. If separate adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead per the adhesive manufacturer instructions before seating the seal.
- Align and press the weatherstrip evenly, using masking tape or clamps to hold sections in place while adhesive cures (if applicable). Ensure corners and ends are fully seated.
- Reinstall any removed trim or clips. Close the door and check for uniform compression and proper latching. Make any minor adjustments to seating as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended time before exposing to moisture or heavy use.
