Instructions:
- Remove door trim and any retainers or clips blocking access to the upper door channel.
- Carefully peel away the old weatherstrip and remove any retaining clips or fasteners.
- Clean the door channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an adhesive remover to remove old sealant and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal (DWP 1110 00) along the upper door edge to confirm orientation and fit before applying adhesive.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead to the channel or to the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Starting at the hinge end, press the new seal into the channel and work toward the latch, seating the profile fully into place. Use masking tape to hold sections if needed.
- Tap gently with a rubber or plastic mallet to ensure the seal is uniformly seated and fully engaged with any clips or retention features.
- Reinstall any trim panels and hardware, then close the door and check for proper shut, gaps and contact. Adjust as needed.
- If adhesive was used, allow the recommended cure time before exposing the door to heavy use or moisture.
