Instructions:
- Remove the door panels and any trim obstructing access to the old weatherstrip.
- Carefully peel away the old weatherstrip. Use a scraper and adhesive cleaner to remove remaining adhesive residue and dirt from the flange and channel.
- Dry the surfaces thoroughly and inspect the door flange and channel for rust or damage; address any issues before installing new seals.
- Test-fit the new seals to each door to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess length with a utility knife or scissors, leaving a small overlap if recommended.
- If the kit requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door flange or channel per adhesive manufacturer instructions. Many kits are push-in and require no adhesive — follow the kit guidance.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into place along the channel or flange. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly, working toward the opposite end.
- Secure corners and joints, ensuring the seal sits flush without twists or gaps. Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive cures if adhesive was used.
- Reinstall the door panel and trim. Close the door and check for even compression and proper sealing; adjust if necessary.
- Allow any adhesive to cure fully (follow adhesive cure times) before driving and re-check for leaks and noise.
