This 2-piece door weatherstrip seal kit is designed to replace worn or damaged door seals on 1968–1973 Nissan 510 vehicles, restoring a tight, weatherproof barrier between the door and body. Made from a durable EPDM-style rubber compound with an OEM-style profile, the seals reduce wind noise, stop water intrusion, and help prevent rust and interior damage. Supplied as matching left- and right-hand pieces, the kit provides a reliable, long-lasting restoration solution that’s straightforward to install and improves cabin comfort and vehicle value.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1973 Nissan 510 (Datsun 510) — left and right door applications.
- Durable EPDM-style rubber compound resists UV, ozone, and temperature degradation.
- Restores OEM-style sealing to reduce wind noise and water leaks.
- Two-piece kit includes matching left- and right-hand door seals for complete replacement.
- Push-in profile with adhesive-ready flange for secure, long-lasting attachment.
- Ideal for restoration projects and routine weatherstrip replacement to prevent rust and interior damage.
- Easy to trim and fit for a neat, professional-looking installation.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip. Use a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver to pry out retained sections, and cut adhesive-bonded areas with a razor knife as needed.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting channel and mating surfaces. Remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris using a scraper, then wipe with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal into the channel to confirm orientation and fit. Trim any excess length with a utility blade so the seal seats flush at the ends.
- If the seal requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of recommended weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or seal flange per adhesive instructions. For push-fit seals, align the bulb and press firmly into the channel.
- Work the seal into place along the full door perimeter, using fingertips or a soft tool to ensure the retention lip fully engages the channel. Use masking tape or spring clamps to hold sections where adhesive is used.
- Close the door gently and check for uniform compression and proper door closure. Reposition or trim as needed for an even seal.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer’s recommended time before exposing the door to moisture or heavy use.
