Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal (Without Trim Groove) WBL D1052 is a heavy-duty EPDM rubber seal engineered to weatherproof and secure rear glass openings on compatible vehicles. Designed for reliable sealing against water and wind, this profile resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes to maintain flexibility and long service life. The groove-free design fits into factory channels or can be used with minimal adhesive where required, making it an excellent choice for restorations and routine replacements. Durable, easy to work with, and made to reduce cabin leaks and wind noise, it’s a practical upgrade for restoring original fit and function.
Features:
  • EPDM rubber construction for long-lasting resistance to UV, ozone and weathering.
  • Groove-free profile fits factory rear glass channels or can be secured with adhesive when needed.
  • Creates a watertight, windproof seal to prevent leaks and reduce road noise.
  • Flexible and resilient — holds shape through temperature cycles for reliable long-term performance.
  • Ideal for restoration projects and OEM-style replacement applications.
  • Push-in installation or light adhesive application for a secure, low-profile finish.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Protective gloves
  • Plastic trim removal tools
  • Flat plastic scraper
  • Rubbing alcohol and lint-free cloths
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (optional)
  • Masking tape
  • Rubber mallet or rubber roller
  • Utility knife or scissors
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the work area and wear protective gloves.
  2. Remove the old weatherstrip carefully using plastic trim tools to avoid damaging the metal channel or glass.
  3. Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
  4. Dry-fit the new seal along the channel to confirm orientation and trim length before final installation.
  5. If adhesive is desired, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Starting at the center bottom of the opening, press the seal into the channel and work outward toward each corner, seating the profile fully into the channel as you go.
  7. Use a rubber roller or gently tap with a rubber mallet (protected with a block of wood if needed) to ensure the seal is uniformly seated without kinks.
  8. Trim any excess material at the ends with a utility knife, ensuring clean, flush terminations.
  9. Secure with masking tape if adhesive was used, and allow recommended cure time before reinstalling glass trim or driving.
  10. Inspect the seal for gaps and test for leaks after installation; re-seat or add small amounts of adhesive where necessary.
