Rear window weatherstrip designed for 2-door hardtop vehicles that secures the rear glass, mates with chrome trim, and seals against water, dust, and wind noise. Engineered to accept chrome trim that inserts into body clips, this seal restores correct glass alignment and bodyline fitment while resisting ozone and UV degradation for long-term durability. Ideal for restoration and replacement applications where an accurate, reliable seal is required to prevent leaks and reduce vibration.
Features:
- Fits 2-door hardtop models; designed to mate with chrome trim that inserts into body clips.
- Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life.
- Works with existing chrome trim and factory-style body clip mounting system.
- Seals rear window against water intrusion, dust, and wind noise for improved comfort.
- Restores OEM fit and finish for restoration projects or replacement installs.
- Simple hand-installation—no special molding equipment required.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with towels or masking tape.
- Carefully remove existing chrome trim (if present) by prying gently with a trim tool to avoid bending the trim or scratching the body.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; if clips remain in the body, inspect them for damage and replace any broken clips.
- Clean the window channel and surrounding areas with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to ensure proper alignment and that trim insertion points line up with body clips.
- If required, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel per adhesive instructions; press the new seal into place starting at one end and working around the opening, ensuring the seal seats fully against the body.
- Insert the chrome trim into the gasket’s retention groove and align with the vehicle’s body clips; press firmly where each body clip seats until you hear or feel it engage.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive, recheck alignment, and allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving.
