Instructions:
- Lower the window to a mid-position and remove the inner door panel and water deflector as needed to access the glass channel.
- Carefully detach and remove the old lockstrip from the glass channel. Note how the old strip seats for reference.
- Clean the channel and glass mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive, and old lubricant.
- Test-fit the new lockstrip along the channel to verify orientation and length. Trim the strip only if necessary, keeping a square cut.
- Lightly wet the channel or spray soapy water/silicone lubricant on the weatherstrip to ease installation.
- Starting at one end, press the new lockstrip into the glass channel, working gradually along the length. Use a rubber mallet or wooden block to gently seat the strip without deforming it.
- If ambient temperature is cold, warm the lockstrip slightly with a heat gun or hair dryer to increase flexibility before seating.
- Ensure the lockstrip fully engages the glass and the rubber weatherstrip; check alignment and that the window moves smoothly.
- Reinstall the water deflector and door panel, then operate the window several times to confirm proper fit, sealing, and quiet operation.
