The Precision Trunk Weatherstrip Seal TS 102 SA is a durable, factory-style trunk seal designed to restore a secure, watertight closure and reduce trunk noise and vibration. Constructed from automotive-grade rubber for long life and resilience, the seal protects the trunk cavity and painted flange from moisture, dust, and road debris while helping maintain proper trunk lid alignment and cushioning. Suitable for use as a restoration or replacement part — verify fitment for your specific make and model before purchase.
Features:
- Check fitment for your specific year, make and model before purchase.
- Made from automotive-grade rubber for long-lasting resilience and weather resistance.
- Creates a watertight, dust-tight seal to protect trunk interior and body paint.
- Reduces wind noise and trunk vibration while improving lid alignment and closure feel.
- Designed for restoration and replacement applications to return trunk sealing to factory-like performance.
- Straightforward installation with commonly available tools; adhesive-ready backing for secure fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the trunk and remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out any retaining clips or adhesive, working along the entire flange.
- Thoroughly clean the trunk flange and mating surfaces with a rag and isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the flange to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap at the ends if required by the profile.
- Apply a thin, even coat of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange or to the seal as directed by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Starting at one corner, press the weatherstrip into place, working slowly and pressing firmly to seat the bulb and lip into the channel or onto the flange. Use masking tape or spring clamps to hold sections while the adhesive begins to set.
- Continue around the full perimeter, checking alignment and ensuring there are no gaps or pinched sections. Trim any excess and butt the ends together cleanly if the seal is not continuous.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations (usually 1–24 hours) before closing the trunk or exposing to weather.
- Inspect the seal by closing the trunk and checking for even compression, water tightness, and proper lid alignment. Make minor adjustments if needed.
