Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any remaining adhesive or debris from the trunk flange using a scraper and cleaning solvent.
- Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new seal around the trunk opening to confirm fit and identify any trimming points.
- If trimming is required, cut small amounts and re-check fit until the profile seats evenly around the perimeter.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the trunk flange or to the gasket mounting horn per adhesive instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the seal firmly into place, working around the trunk and aligning the molded profile; use masking tape to hold sections while adhesive sets if desired.
- Wipe off any excess adhesive immediately with a clean cloth and solvent as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions before closing the trunk and testing for seal integrity and alignment.
