Instructions:
- Open the trunk and remove the old weatherstrip by carefully prying it out of the channel or peeling off any adhesive; save any fasteners if reusable.
- Clean the sealing surface and channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new TS 100 SA seal along the trunk perimeter to confirm orientation and length; trim excess material if provided as a universal/cut-to-fit part.
- If adhesive is required for your application, apply a continuous bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the cleaned channel or to the seal base per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the seal into the channel beginning at the trunk latch area and work around the perimeter, ensuring the bulb seats evenly and any retention lips engage the channel.
- Use masking tape or clamps to hold the seal in place if adhesive was used; avoid overstretching the material while fitting corners and curves.
- Trim any excess with a utility knife for a neat joint and ensure ends meet cleanly at the latch area; tuck the ends as needed for a tight finish.
- Close the trunk slowly and check for even closing and gaps; adjust fit or add small shims if the seal interferes with latch operation.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (typically 24 hours) before exposing the area to water or heavy use.
- Recheck the seal after a short test drive and adjust as necessary to eliminate noise or minor leaks.
