The Precision Trunk Weatherstrip Seal TS 101 SA is an OEM-style trunk seal designed to restore a watertight, quiet closure for trunk lids. Molded from durable EPDM rubber with a self-adhesive backing, this profile seals gaps, prevents water intrusion, reduces road and trunk noise, and helps maintain proper trunk alignment. Ideal for restoration and replacement applications, the TS 101 SA offers long-lasting resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature cycling for reliable performance in varied climates. Verify fitment for your vehicle before ordering to ensure correct profile and length.
Features:
- Check fitment for your specific vehicle before purchase to ensure correct profile and length.
- Molded EPDM rubber construction resists UV, ozone, and temperature extremes for long life.
- Self-adhesive backing (SA) simplifies installation—no clamps or complex hardware required.
- Seals trunk gaps to prevent water leaks, reduce noise, and protect trunk contents.
- OEM-style profile restores original fit and appearance for restoration or maintenance projects.
- Flexible design conforms to trunk contours while maintaining compression set resistance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any remaining adhesive or debris from the trunk flange using a plastic scraper and cleaner.
- Clean the sealing surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the trunk perimeter to confirm orientation and trim length as needed. Use masking tape to hold ends during trial fit.
- If using an adhesion promoter, apply it to the trunk flange per the promoter instructions and let it flash as directed.
- Starting at one corner, peel back a few inches of the adhesive backing, align the seal on the flange, and press firmly into place. Continue peeling the backing gradually while pressing the seal onto the flange to avoid misalignment.
- Use a rubber roller or firm hand pressure to roll along the seal and ensure full contact of the adhesive to the metal surface.
- Trim any excess material for a neat joint and overlap or butt the ends according to the original factory configuration.
- Allow the adhesive to cure per product guidance (typically 24 hours) before exposing the trunk to water or heavy use.
