The Precision Vent Glass Frame VGF 1110 81 LHS is a direct-replacement left-hand vent window frame engineered to secure and align vent glass, maintain a proper seal, and restore original fitment. Built for durability and longevity, the frame reduces wind noise and water intrusion while protecting the vent glass and surrounding trim. It’s an ideal part for restoration projects and routine repairs where factory-style fit and reliable performance are required.
Features:
- Direct-replacement left-hand vent glass frame (VGF 1110 81 LHS) for vent window assemblies.
- Sturdy stamped-steel construction with a protective coating for corrosion resistance.
- Secures and aligns vent glass to prevent rattles, wind noise, and water leaks.
- Designed for easy installation and adjustment to restore factory fit and function.
- Ideal for restoration and repair projects — replaces worn, bent, or corroded original frames.
- Compatible with existing vent glass, seals, and trim for a straightforward swap.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on level ground, lower the window where applicable, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near powered components.
- Remove the interior door panel and any trim pieces that cover the vent window area using a trim tool and screwdrivers. Keep fasteners organized.
- Support the vent glass with masking tape or a helper to prevent dropping when the frame is removed.
- Remove any retaining screws, rivets, or clips that secure the existing vent glass frame to the door. Carefully detach the frame and glass assembly.
- If reusing the vent glass, separate it from the old frame per the original fastener locations. Inspect glass and seals; replace seals if damaged.
- Clean mounting surfaces on the door of old adhesive, corrosion, and debris. Wipe with solvent and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new vent glass frame to the door and glass to ensure alignment. Make any necessary adjustments before final fastening.
- Secure the new frame using the original fasteners or supplied hardware. Apply weatherstrip adhesive or a small bead of silicone where needed to ensure a watertight seal.
- Reinstall trim and the interior door panel. Operate the vent window to confirm smooth movement and proper sealing; adjust as needed.
- Perform a water and wind-noise check (hose test while driving the vehicle slowly or with door closed) to verify leak-free installation.
