A clear, tempered vent glass replacement engineered to restore the function and weather seal of a vehicle’s vent/window opening. Labeled 2054T CLN for Second Series applications, this left-or-right hand glass provides improved strength and chip resistance compared with annealed glass, helping protect the cabin from wind, water and road debris. Ideal for restoration or maintenance, the tempered construction delivers dependable durability, reliable fitment where the 2054T specification applies, and straightforward installation for most hobbyists and professionals.
Features:
- Designed for Second Series vent window openings using the 2054T specification — confirm compatibility before ordering.
- Tempered safety glass for greater strength, chip resistance, and safer breakage characteristics.
- Sold for left or right hand vent positions; clear finish maintains original appearance and visibility.
- Restores proper sealing and reduces wind noise, water intrusion, and vibration.
- Direct-replacement design for restoration projects and sheetmetal repairs; improves longevity over worn originals.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and lower the vent window (if possible) before beginning.
- Remove interior door panel or trim pieces necessary to access the vent window pivot and latch hardware.
- Locate and loosen/remove the pivot screws or fasteners securing the vent glass assembly; support the glass to prevent dropping.
- Carefully tilt and remove the old vent glass from its channel; if present, remove the old rubber channel or weatherstrip.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area of dirt, adhesive residue, and corrosion; inspect the frame and mounting hardware and replace if damaged.
- Lubricate the new rubber channel or use mild soapy water on the channel edges to ease installation.
- Position the new tempered vent glass into the channel, aligning pivot pins and screw holes; insert and hand-tighten the pivot fasteners.
- Adjust the glass alignment and latch engagement as needed, then torque pivot fasteners to spec or snugly tighten without over-stressing the glass.
- Operate the vent to verify smooth movement and proper sealing; check for gaps and adjust weatherstrip if necessary.
- Reinstall door trim/panel and hardware. Perform a final leak and wind-noise check after installation.
