Instructions:
- Open the vent window and locate the pivot/hinge screw(s); loosen or remove them to free the vent assembly from the door.
- Carefully remove the vent assembly from the door and set it on a soft surface to avoid scratching the glass.
- Pry out the old weatherstrip from the vent frame and glass channel using a flat screwdriver or trim tool; remove any old adhesive residue and clean the channel with soap and water.
- Dry the channel and glass thoroughly and inspect for damage or corrosion; address any issues before installing new seals.
- Lightly lubricate the new weatherstrip bead with soapy water or rubber lubricant to ease installation.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip bead into the vent frame channel and along the glass edge, ensuring a continuous, seated fit; trim excess if necessary.
- Reinstall the vent assembly into the door, align the pivot, and tighten pivot/hinge screws. Test vent operation for smooth movement and proper sealing.
- Check for leaks by spraying water around the vent while someone sits inside to observe; adjust fit or re-seat the seal as needed.
