Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and open the vent (wing) window to access the weatherstrip.
- If necessary, remove vent assembly screws or pivot fasteners per vehicle-specific procedure and carefully remove the vent frame; keep fasteners organized.
- Peel out the old weatherstrips from the channel. Use a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver to loosen stubborn sections and a utility knife to cut away any bonded adhesive.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding metal with a clean rag to remove dirt, old adhesive and debris; ensure the mounting surface is dry.
- Trial-fit the new seals on the vent frame to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- Lightly wet the seal contact surface with soapy water or a silicone lubricant to ease installation. Start at one end and press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working around the frame and ensuring full engagement in corners.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife so seals sit flush at the joints; use masking tape to hold seals in place while setting if needed.
- Reinstall the vent assembly into the door, secure fasteners, and cycle the vent to check smooth operation and proper glass alignment.
- Confirm the seal by checking for gaps and perform a water test or feel for drafts. Adjust seating if necessary and allow any lubricant to dry before final use.
