Precision Vent Glass Weatherstrip Seal Kit (VWK 1110 64) is a 4-piece left and right seal set designed to restore and protect the front vent (wing) glass on 1964 Volkswagen Beetles. These replacement seals provide a secure, OEM-style fit to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and rattles, and protect the interior from drafts and moisture. Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber, the kit is ideal for restorations and routine maintenance, offering long-lasting performance and straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1964 Volkswagen Beetle front vent (wing) glass — left and right, 4-piece kit.
- Manufactured from durable, ozone- and UV-resistant EPDM rubber for long service life.
- Seals vent glass to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise and eliminate rattles.
- OEM-style profile for correct alignment and a factory appearance during restoration.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; ideal for restoration projects and maintenance.
- Replacement kit includes left and right pieces to fully restore vent glass sealing.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, open the vent window and secure it in the service position.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by prying along the channel with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver. Take care not to damage the vent glass or surrounding trim.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seals to each vent window to confirm correct orientation and fit. Trim excess rubber if necessary for a precise fit.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin, even layer of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or seal using a small brush. Follow adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the channel, working slowly and applying even pressure to ensure full seating. Avoid stretching the seal.
- Once installed, close and open the vent to check alignment and ensure smooth operation. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (typically 1–24 hours) before exposing the vehicle to moisture or driving at highway speeds. Re-check seals for secure fit after curing.
