Precision Vent Glass Weatherstrip Seal designed for left or right vent glass to restore a tight, weatherproof seal. Fits 1967 Volkswagen Beetle vent windows and keeps water, wind noise, and road dust out while protecting vent glass edges. Made to replicate original fit and profile for reliable, long-lasting performance, it improves cabin comfort and prevents corrosion around window channels. Durable, easy to fit, and ideal for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1967 Volkswagen Beetle — left or right vent (vent wing) glass
- OEM-style profile for correct fit and sealing performance
- Made from durable EPDM-style rubber to resist ozone, UV and temperature degradation
- Secures vent glass, prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and rattles
- Easy press-in installation — ideal for restoration and replacement applications
- Helps protect surrounding trim and prevents corrosion at the window channel
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the vent window assembly: open and/or unbolt the vent wing as required for your vehicle so you can access the old seal.
- Carefully pry out and remove the old weatherstrip, using a trim tool to avoid damaging metal or glass.
- Clean the channel and glass edge thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or mild degreaser to remove old adhesive, dirt and residue; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip on the vent glass to confirm orientation (left vs. right) and alignment.
- Apply a thin film of soapy water or silicone rubber lubricant to the rubber seal and the glass channel to ease installation; if desired, apply small spots of weatherstrip adhesive where the seal starts to hold.
- Press the new seal into the channel, starting at one end and working around the perimeter. Use your thumbs or a small rubber mallet wrapped in cloth to seat the seal evenly without overstretching.
- Trim any excess material if necessary with a sharp knife for a clean fit.
- Reinstall the vent window assembly and tighten fasteners to factory torque. Operate the vent to check smooth movement and ensure the seal compresses evenly.
- Inspect for gaps and test for leaks by gently spraying water around the vent; re-seat or add adhesive where minor leaks appear.
