Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the interior trim and old weatherstrip from the vent glass channel using a trim tool or flat screwdriver, taking care not to damage the glass or frame.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner and a microfiber cloth; remove all old adhesive and debris.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the vent glass channel to confirm orientation and length; trim any excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- Apply a light coat of silicone spray or soapy water to the channel and the inside lip of the new seal to ease installation.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the length and using a rubber mallet or wooden block to seat the seal evenly without overstretching.
- Reinstall any removed trim pieces and operate the vent glass slowly to verify smooth movement and a proper seal.
- Allow the seal to settle for a short period and recheck for gaps, leakage, or binding; make final adjustments if needed.
