Instructions:
  1. Prepare workspace: park vehicle on a flat surface, disconnect battery if working near powered components, and wear safety glasses.
  2. Remove trim and access the vent hinge assembly by removing screws or fasteners holding the vent frame or door panel.
  3. Support the vent assembly to prevent it from dropping when removing old fasteners.
  4. Mark and center-punch rivet locations, then drill out the existing rivets using a drill bit sized to the rivet shank. Keep holes clean and deburr edges.
  5. Position the new hinge and align holes; use clamps or a helper to maintain alignment if needed.
  6. Insert supplied rivets through the hinge and mating bracket. If the kit includes washers or spacers, place them as required to maintain correct hinge spacing and movement.
  7. Set the rivet tool over the rivet head and install each rivet per the tool manufacturer’s instructions until the rivet is fully set and secure.
  8. Check hinge operation: open and close the vent several times to confirm smooth movement and correct alignment; make minor adjustments if necessary.
  9. Reinstall any trim or fasteners removed earlier and verify weather seals and fitment are intact.
  10. Clean up work area and perform a final function test to ensure secure installation and proper vent operation.
