A replacement windshield weatherstrip seal engineered for hardtop-style vehicles that use chrome trim which inserts into body clips (WCR D626 style). This seal forms a tight, continuous barrier between the glass, chrome trim and body to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and protect interior finishes. Made from resilient, weather-resistant rubber, it restores original fit and appearance while resisting UV, ozone and temperature-related shrinkage for long-term reliability and easy installation.
Features:
- Designed for hardtop models that use chrome trim inserted into body clips (WCR D626 style).
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber resists UV, ozone and temperature degradation.
- Seals windshield-to-body joint to prevent water leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Works with chrome trim that seats into factory body clips for authentic OEM fit.
- Simple press-in installation restores original appearance and function.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing worn, cracked or compressed seals.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim with masking tape.
- Carefully remove the chrome trim by prying at clip locations with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver, working slowly to avoid bending the trim.
- Remove the old weatherstrip seal by pulling it out of the channel; use pliers if needed to access retained ends.
- Clean the channel and glass edge thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth to remove dirt, adhesive residue and old seal material.
- Inspect body clips; replace any broken or heavily corroded clips before installing the new seal.
- Align the new weatherstrip with the windshield channel, starting at the center of the windshield and working toward each corner so the seal seats evenly.
- Press the seal firmly into the channel along its entire length; use a rubber mallet or a block of wood to gently tap the seal into place if necessary. Ensure the chrome trim will be able to insert into the body clips.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by seating it onto the body clips and pressing until each clip engages. If clips are loose, apply a small amount of weatherstrip adhesive to secure the seal where needed and allow recommended cure time.
- Check the windshield for proper fit and test for leaks by gently spraying water around the seal; make any final adjustments as required.
