Instructions:
- Prepare the workspace: lower the window (if possible) and remove the door panel and inner water shield according to vehicle service procedures.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip: carefully peel out the weatherstrip bead from the channel, then extract the existing lockstrip using pliers or a screwdriver to free any retaining tabs or fasteners.
- Clean the channel: remove old adhesive, rust, and debris from the glass channel with solvent and a clean rag; ensure the surface is dry and smooth.
- Trial-fit the new lockstrip: position the WLS 913/914 SP into the channel to verify alignment and length; trim excess if required using a utility knife or metal snips, following safe practices.
- Install the lockstrip: press the new lockstrip firmly into the channel, engaging any retention edges; use a rubber mallet gently if needed to seat it fully without deforming the strip.
- Reinstall the weatherstrip: snap the weatherstrip bead into the lockstrip channel, ensuring a continuous seal and proper engagement along the entire length.
- Reassemble and test: reinstall the inner water shield and door panel, operate the window up/down several times to confirm smooth movement and that wind noise/rattle are resolved.
