Precision Windshield Weatherstrip Seal with a built-in trim groove designed for lockstrip WCR 914. This weatherstrip secures and seals the windshield, preventing leaks, wind noise, and vibration while protecting the glass and body flange. Constructed for long-lasting performance, it provides a tight, factory-style fit that simplifies installation and is ideal for restoration and replacement projects. Verify fitment for vehicles that use the WCR 914 lockstrip profile before purchase.
Features:
- Fits vehicles using the lockstrip WCR 914 windshield profile — verify year, make and model compatibility.
- Rubber weatherstrip with integrated trim groove to accept the lockstrip for secure attachment.
- Seals windshield to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and minimize vibration.
- Durable rubber compound resists weathering, UV exposure, and temperature extremes.
- Designed for restoration and replacement applications to restore factory fit and finish.
- Easy to install with common hand tools and standard lockstrip installation techniques.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on experience and vehicle)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and wear safety gear.
- Remove interior trim and windshield molding as needed to access the old weatherstrip and lockstrip.
- Carefully remove the old lockstrip and weatherstrip. Use a utility knife to cut away bonded material and a trim tool to pry out remaining rubber.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and channel; remove old adhesive, dirt, and rust. Dry and inspect for damage.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if necessary.
- Apply a light coat of soapy water or approved rubber lubricant to the weatherstrip bead and flange to ease installation.
- Insert the new lockstrip into the weatherstrip’s trim groove if not pre-assembled. Ensure it seats evenly along the entire length.
- Starting at the top, work the weatherstrip bead into the windshield channel. Use a block and mallet or a lockstrip tool to evenly seat the lockstrip into the channel without distorting the rubber.
- Verify the weatherstrip is fully seated and uniformly compressed around the windshield. Re-trim any excess and wipe away lubricant.
- Reinstall windshield molding and interior trim. Perform a leak and wind-noise check; allow any lubricant to dry before final inspection.
