A universal bulb seal with a rubber-covered wire-core and push-on U-channel design that provides consistent weatherproofing, vibration damping, and edge protection for doors, hoods, trunks, windows and interior or exterior trim. The flexible rubber exterior resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes while the internal wire core grips metal edges securely for long-lasting retention. Ideal for restoration, repair, or upgrade projects where a durable, easy-to-install edge seal is needed across many vehicle types and sheet-metal applications.
Features:
  • Universal fit for most vehicle doors, hoods, trunks, windows, trailers and general sheet-metal edges.
  • Rubber-covered wire-core construction for secure retention and long-lasting resilience.
  • Push-on U-channel design grips edges without adhesive for fast, tool-assisted installation.
  • Provides weatherproofing, noise/vibration reduction and cushioning to prevent scratching and metal-to-metal contact.
  • Cut-to-length for custom applications; suitable for restoration, replacement and maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 10–30 minutes (per door/edge depending on length)
Suggested Tools:
  • Tape measure
  • Utility knife or heavy-duty scissors
  • Clean cloth and solvent (isopropyl alcohol)
  • Silicone spray or soapy water (optional lubricant)
  • Soft-faced mallet or rubber roller
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Measure the length of the edge where the seal will be applied and add a small allowance for trimming.
  2. Clean the mounting edge thoroughly with solvent to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive so the wire core can seat firmly.
  3. Cut the bulb seal to the measured length using a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors; score and bend for a clean cut if needed.
  4. Apply a light coating of soapy water or silicone spray to the channel if the fit is tight—this eases installation but is not required.
  5. Position one end of the U-channel onto the edge and press the seal onto the flange, working along the length. Use a rubber roller or soft-faced mallet to help seat the wire core evenly without deforming the rubber.
  6. Trim any excess material and check that the seal is seated uniformly along the edge. Re-check areas around corners and ends and readjust if necessary.
