- OEM-style replacement clips restore factory fit and appearance.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant metal construction designed for long service life.
- Secures insulation to prevent sagging, rattles and heat transfer from the tunnel.
- Simple push-in installation — no special fasteners required.
- Perfect for restoration projects and routine interior maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and ensure the area around the transmission tunnel is cool and accessible.
- Carefully remove any trim or carpeting necessary to access the insulation and the old clips using a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver.
- Remove old or broken clips by prying them out or cutting them away. Apply penetrating oil to seized clips and allow to soak if needed.
- Clean the clip holes and surrounding area with a rag to remove dirt and rust. Inspect holes for damage; repair or enlarge cautiously if necessary.
- Align the transmission tunnel insulation over the holes in the tunnel.
- Insert each clip rivet through the insulation and into the corresponding hole, pushing firmly until the clip seats and locks in place. Use pliers for a firmer push if needed.
- Reinstall any trim or carpeting removed earlier and check that the insulation sits flat with no sagging or loose areas.
- Test by gently pressing around installed clips to ensure secure engagement and listen for eliminated rattles during a short drive.
