This windshield weatherstrip seal is designed for GM sedan, coupe, and wagon models that require a windshield seal without a trim groove. Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect paint and interior with drop cloths.
- Remove windshield trim and any remaining old weatherstrip material using a plastic trim tool and protected screwdriver; cut stubborn sections with a razor knife.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield channel and surrounding flange with rubbing alcohol or wax & grease remover; allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel, starting at the top center and working outward to ensure correct orientation and fit.
- If adhesive is recommended for your vehicle or the flange is worn, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel per adhesive instructions; otherwise, press the seal into place by hand.
- Seat the seal fully by pressing along the entire perimeter, using a seam roller or thumb pressure to ensure full engagement.
- Reinstall windshield trim and any removed molding; use painter's tape to hold trim in place while adhesive cures if used.
- Inspect the seal for gaps and test for leaks after cure time by gently spraying water around the windshield perimeter.
