The Racing Ford DUI (Davis Unified Ignition) is a one-piece ignition system that is designed for 9000 RPM's. It has the Racing DUI Coil mounted inside the distributor cap and the Dyna-Module inside the distributor. It is an easy drop in installation with a one wire hook-up and no spark boxes are needed! Don't be fooled by cheap imitations, this is the original one-piece Ford distributor that will turn up to 9000 RPM's! The Racing DUI only draws 2 to 3 amps off of the battery, whereas point type ignitions and spark boxes drain 10 amps or more. The Racing DUI Coil and the Dyna-Module produce a long duration spark allowing plug gaps to be opened up to .050"-.055"! The Racing DUI sends twice as much spark into the combustion chamber over a Magneto, which can only run a tiny .015" - .025" gap. Horsepower is gained because more fuel is burned on each piston stroke. Along with a more efficient burn, the spark plugs will stay cleaner longer. The Racing DUI also makes point-type systems obsolete and saves time and money because points do not have to be changed for every race. The Racing DUI Coil is designed to run cooler than all other coils, including oil-filled coils. Cross fire is eliminated by the use of wide terminal spacing within the cap. The Racing Ford DUI advance system is curved for easy starting, better throttle response and more power. All of the moving parts are hand fitted to assure the smoothest advance curve possible. The weights are fabricated from very high quality hardened steel which makes them virtually maintenance free. More timing can be run, without detonation, than with stock distributors and after market curve kits. Each distributor is tuned on a distributor machine for the engine it is being installed in. The advance curve is determined by the specs of the vehicle and engine. The Racing Ford DUI is available with or without vacuum advance.
