A heavy-duty glass weatherstrip lockstrip designed to secure window rubber to the glass channel, preventing leaks, wind noise and vibration. Supplied as a 100-foot roll for multiple windows or full restorations, this lockstrip provides consistent retention and alignment for new or replacement glass weatherstrips. Its robust construction and corrosion-resistant finish deliver long-lasting reliability while remaining easy to cut and install, making it ideal for restoration projects, body shops, and DIY repairs across a wide range of vehicles.

Installation / Application:

Suggested Tools:
  • Utility knife or sharp shears
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Small flat-head screwdriver or tuck tool
  • Cleaning solvent (isopropyl alcohol)
  • Clean cloths
  • Tape measure
  • Gloves
  • Optional: locking pliers or bench vise for holding strip while cutting
Instructions:
  1. Measure the glass channel length to determine required lockstrip length and cut from the roll, leaving a small extra length for trimming.
  2. Remove any old lockstrip and weatherseal material. Clean the glass channel thoroughly with solvent and a clean cloth; allow to dry.
  3. If installing new weatherstrip, position the rubber bead on the glass edge first per the weatherstrip manufacturer's guidance.
  4. Align the lockstrip so its retention edge engages the weatherstrip and glass channel. Start at one end and gently press the lockstrip into place along the channel.
  5. Use a small flat-head screwdriver or tuck tool to seat the lockstrip fully into the channel, working in short sections to avoid gaps. Pliers can help pull the strip tight as you progress.
  6. Trim excess lockstrip flush with the channel ends using a utility knife or shears. Re-check retention and make any final tucks to ensure the strip is fully engaged.
  7. Repeat for remaining windows. Inspect each installation by moving the glass slightly and checking for secure attachment, leaks, and proper alignment.
