'Rare & Pristine' orange Corvette goes on, off market

For Bill Kanary, orange will always be the new beautiful.

The member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Corvette Club posted what he called his "Rare & Pristine" 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 2it on Facebook in May. It didn't take long before the car sold for $36,000.

The Corvette was painted in a rare metallic Atomic Orange colour with matching two-tone leather interior. It had only 88,000 kms.

The engine has a 6.2L V8 that packs 430 hp. He upgraded it with a Performance Corsa exhaust "for a deep, aggressive sound" and added Hotchkis sport suspension for enhanced handling, ZR1 chrome wheels to give the style more pizzazz and new Continental ExtremeContact performance tires and tinted windows.

In his sale posting for the car, Kanary said it came in "showroom quality" with "no scratches or accidents." The car was driven only on sunny days and always kept in a garage.

"This meticulously maintained Corvette is a head-turner with low mileage and premium upgrades. Perfect for enthusiasts seeking performance and style," the Digby, N.S. resident said.
