Split-window 'Firecracker Red' Vette goes on block

By Claudio D'Andrea

That sexy hot red colour. The inviting split-window peek. All the classic smooth styling of one of the finest Corvettes ever built.

It's all there in Ron Irving's post on the Corvettes of Peterborough's Facebook page in August. Sharing a link to Barrett-Jackson's MS Classic Cars Collection and his comment "I restomods," Irving's post says the 'Redline' 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe is a "professionally built pro-touring street machine completed by Troy Lunquist Restorations in 2022." The original GM factory car was finished "in stunning Firecracker Red" and blends "iconic C2 styling with modern performance," the MS Classic Cars post said.

The Vette is powered by a GM Performance 376ci KLS3 V8 engine and 525 horsepower, with a GM Performance 4L70E automatic transmission. Art Morrison chassis and tubular control arms, four-link rear suspension, adjustable coilover shocks, power rack-and-pinion steering and Wilwood power four-wheel disc brakes are also features. The interior is a slick tan leather.

"A Strange Ford 9-inch limited slip rear with 3.73 gears puts the power to the pavement," the post said.

The car was scheduled to sell at Barrett Jackson's auction in Las Vegas on September 12 with no reserve. To check it out, visit this site.
