Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel or peeling off adhesive remnants. Use a trim tool to avoid damaging paint.
- Clean the door flange and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the entire door perimeter to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess with a razor knife if necessary, leaving a small overlap at joints.
- If the weatherstrip uses adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. For push-in types, no adhesive may be required.
- Starting at the hinge side, press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working toward the latch side. Use a rubber mallet or a block of wood to seat the seal evenly without overstretching.
- Compress corner and joint areas to ensure a consistent seal. Re-check door closure and adjust position if the door binds or does not latch easily.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's recommended time before exposing to moisture or driving the vehicle.
