Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near electrical components, and open the adjacent door or window for access.
- Remove interior trim or weatherstripping that covers the vent mounting area using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver; set fasteners aside.
- Locate and remove the screws or bolts securing the old vent assembly. Keep mounting hardware if reusing or replace with provided hardware.
- Carefully pull the old vent assembly free; disconnect any linkages or clips that attach the vane/blade to the control mechanism.
- Clean the mounting surface with a cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove dirt and old sealant. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new vent assembly to ensure alignment. If necessary, apply a thin bead of silicone sealant to the mating surface for improved water sealing.
- Reconnect any linkages or clips, then secure the new vent assembly with the original or supplied fasteners. Tighten evenly but do not overtighten plastic parts.
- Reinstall interior trim and weatherstripping, ensuring a flush fit and that controls operate smoothly.
- Check for proper operation by opening/closing the vent and inspecting for gaps or leaks. If sealant was used, allow recommended cure time before exposure to moisture.
