Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and disconnect the negative battery terminal if power accessories are present.
- Remove the door panel and any interior trim necessary to access the vent assembly mounting points (keep fasteners organized).
- Carefully tape the surrounding glass and trim to protect painted surfaces during removal.
- Remove the mounting screws/bolts and any retaining clips securing the old vent assembly; support the vent as you loosen fasteners to prevent dropping.
- Disconnect any trim or hardware that must be transferred to the new assembly and note fastener locations for reinstallation.
- Withdraw the old vent assembly from the door, clean the mounting flange and channel of old sealant, corrosion, and debris.
- Test fit the new vent assembly into the door opening, ensuring frame alignment and that glass moves freely within its track.
- Apply threadlocker or fresh sealant to fasteners if recommended, then secure the new assembly loosely. Adjust alignment so gaps and sealing surfaces are even, then tighten fasteners to specification.
- Reinstall transferred trim and hardware, verify operation (open/close, vent latch, and check for binding).
- Replace the door panel and any removed trim. Perform a water and wind noise check; if leaks are present, recheck seals and fastener torque.
