Instructions:
- Lower the window to a position that allows access to the channel area.
- Remove the interior door panel and any vapor barrier as needed to expose the channel mounting area (keep fasteners organized).
- Carefully detach the old glass run channel: remove any retaining clips or screws and slide or pry the old channel out. Trim or cut away stubborn sections with a utility knife if required.
- Thoroughly clean the channel mounting groove and surrounding area, removing old adhesive, debris, and corrosion. Wipe dry with a clean rag.
- If supplied, align the new channel with the door frame and slide it into the mounting groove. Use masking tape to hold the lower portion in place as you work the rest of the channel into position.
- Apply a thin layer of rubber lubricant or window grease to the channel contact surfaces to ease glass reinstallation and prevent future wear.
- Carefully raise the window into the new channel to confirm smooth travel and proper seating. Adjust the channel position if necessary before final fastening.
- Reinstall any retaining clips or fasteners, replace the vapor barrier, and reattach the interior door panel.
- Operate the window several times to confirm quiet, smooth operation and a proper weather-tight seal. Make final adjustments as needed.
