The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 8941 is a durable stamped-steel fastener engineered to secure exterior and interior trim moldings, weatherstrips, and panels. Designed as a direct-style replacement for worn or missing OEM clips, it restores proper alignment and prevents wind noise, water intrusion, and trim rattle. Its stamped-metal construction and corrosion-resistant finish provide long-term reliability, while the low-profile design keeps moldings flush with the vehicle surface. Verify fitment with your OEM part number before purchase to ensure compatibility with your specific make and model.
Features:
  • Stamped steel construction for strength and long-term durability
  • Corrosion-resistant finish helps prevent rust and seizing
  • Designed to secure exterior and interior moldings, trim, and weatherstrips
  • Push-in style for quick, low-effort installation and replacement
  • Ideal for restoration projects and routine trim repairs to eliminate vibration and gaps
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 10-30 minutes (per panel)
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or panel clip tool
  • Flat-blade screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Penetrating oil (if removing corroded clips)
Instructions:
  1. Carefully remove the trim panel or molding by prying at the clip locations with a trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver to expose the old clips.
  2. If clips are corroded or stuck, apply penetrating oil and allow it to soak for a few minutes before removal.
  3. Remove the old clip by pulling straight out with needle-nose pliers or prying gently to avoid damaging the panel.
  4. Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area of rust, dirt, and old adhesive to ensure a flush fit.
  5. Align the new 8941 clip with the mounting hole and the trim's retainer channel.
  6. Press the trim into position so the clip engages; use a rubber mallet for light taps if necessary to seat the clip fully.
  7. Verify the molding is seated evenly along its length and that there is no play or rattling. Replace any additional clips as needed for secure fitment.
