The Precision Push-In Fastener 6105 002 ORG is a compact, push-fit trim retainer designed to secure interior and exterior panels, splash shields, wheel well liners, and other plastic or metal components. Molded from durable, UV-stable nylon, this orange fastener offers corrosion resistance, vibration damping, and reliable holding power in automotive environments. Its push-in design makes installation quick and tool-minimal, ideal for maintenance, repair, or restoration projects across many makes and models where this style of retainer is used.
Features:
- Orange finish for easy identification during repairs and assembly.
- Durable, UV-stable nylon construction resists corrosion and aging.
- Push-in design secures trim, liners, splash shields, and panels without threaded hardware.
- Provides vibration dampening and helps prevent panel wear and rattles.
- Easy to install and replace—saves time during restoration and maintenance.
- Often reusable if removed carefully; inexpensive replacement for worn clips.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 1/5
- Estimated time: 5–15 minutes per fastener (depending on access and panel removal)
Instructions:
- Locate the damaged or missing fastener and inspect the hole and surrounding panel for damage or debris.
- If replacing a broken clip, gently pry out the old retainer using a trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver; use needle-nose pliers for stubborn pieces.
- Clean the hole and mating surfaces with a cloth to remove dirt, rust, or old adhesive.
- Align the panel or part so the hole in the panel lines up with the mounting hole in the vehicle body or bracket.
- Position the fastener pin over the hole and push the fastener body into the hole until the head is flush with the panel surface.
- If the fastener has a center pin, push the pin fully home until it locks the fastener in place (a firm thumb press is usually sufficient).
- Check that the panel is secure and that the fastener is seated evenly. If fit is loose, inspect hole size and replace with the correct diameter retainer if necessary.
