Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, lower rear window (if applicable) and wear gloves.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: use a trim tool or protected flat screwdriver to pry out the old seal without damaging the channel or paint.
- Clean the window edge and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or mild cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive and residue; dry with a clean cloth.
- Test-fit the new seal by loosely positioning it around the window to confirm alignment and correct orientation.
- Apply a thin layer of silicone lubricant or soapy water to the seal bead to ease installation; if manufacturer guidance or local conditions require, apply weatherstrip adhesive sparingly to the channel per adhesive instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the channel firmly and evenly, working around the perimeter and ensuring the seal fully seats without twists or gaps.
- Trim any excess with a utility knife for a neat finish, then press all edges again to ensure a continuous seal.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per its instructions (if used), then check for leaks by gently spraying water around the window and inspect for proper sealing and smooth operation.
