A precision-engineered windshield weatherstrip seal with an integrated trim groove designed for lockstrip WCR 819 applications. This seal creates a secure, watertight barrier between the windshield glass and vehicle body, centering the glass, reducing wind noise and vibration, and protecting the vehicle interior from water intrusion and road debris. Molded from a durable EPDM-grade rubber compound, it resists UV, ozone, and temperature cycling for long-term reliability. The built-in trim groove accepts a lockstrip or molding for a factory-fit appearance, making it ideal for restorations and replacement jobs.
Features:
- Designed for lockstrip WCR 819 windshield applications.
- Made from durable EPDM-grade rubber for weather and UV resistance.
- Integrated trim groove accepts lockstrip or exterior molding.
- Provides a watertight seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Helps center and secure the windshield for proper alignment.
- Easy to install for restoration or replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Work in a shaded, dry area and wear gloves to protect the seal and glass.
- Remove the existing windshield molding or lockstrip and old weatherstrip, taking care not to damage paint or glass.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and flange areas with isopropyl alcohol or glass cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease; let dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield to confirm fit and orientation; trim any excess if necessary following manufacturer guidelines.
- Apply a light soapy water or recommended rubber lubricant to the seal flange and windshield lip to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center, press the weatherstrip into the windshield channel, working outward and down each side, ensuring the trim groove aligns with the lockstrip location.
- Seat the seal fully by hand, using a soft plastic tool or wrapped screwdriver to gently tuck the flange into tight corners and the channel without stretching the rubber.
- Install the lockstrip or exterior molding into the trim groove to lock the weatherstrip in place and achieve a factory look.
- Inspect the perimeter for consistent seating and correct any high or low spots; allow any lubricant to dry and re-clean the area.
- Test for leaks after installation by gently spraying water around the windshield and checking interior areas for intrusion.
