Instructions:
The following information applies to the left front headlamp door motor/actuator only. It does not apply to and should not be performed on the right frontheadlamp door motor/actuator.
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
- Open the hood and access the headlight motor by removing any plastic covers or trim that block the motor mounting area.
- Manually position the headlight to a service position if needed to gain clearance to the motor.
- Mark the motor orientation and note existing shim placement so you can replicate or adjust spacing.
- Carefully remove the motor mounting bolts and detach the motor from its mounting flange.
- Install one washer between the left headlamp door motor/actuator and the mounting bracket at each of the three attaching bolt locations.
- Reinstall the motor, tighten mounting bolts to the manufacturer's torque specification, and verify smooth, full-range headlight travel.
- If binding or play persists, repeat shim adjustments until proper alignment and movement are achieved.
- Reinstall any removed covers or trim, reconnect the battery, and perform a final operational check of the headlights.
