Instructions:
- Lower the window glass fully (if possible) and disconnect the vehicle battery if recommended by manufacturer.
- Remove the interior door panel and any trim necessary to access the glass run channel and window regulator per vehicle-specific procedures.
- Carefully remove the old or damaged glass run channel: loosen any retaining clips or fasteners and pull the old channel free from the window slot. Note how it seats in the frame for reference.
- Clean the window channel area inside the door thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner and wipe dry. Remove any old adhesive, debris, or rust to ensure proper seating.
- Measure the door frame and mark the new 8-foot channel where it needs to be trimmed. Cut the channel to length using a utility knife or sharp shears, leaving a little extra for final trimming if needed.
- Apply soapy water or a small amount of silicone lubricant to the channel lip to ease installation. Insert the bottom end of the new channel into the window slot and work it along the frame, seating it evenly and ensuring it follows the original channel path.
- Press the channel firmly into place, making sure it fully seats into retaining grooves or clips. Reinstall any retainers or fasteners removed earlier.
- Carefully raise and lower the window several times to confirm smooth operation and proper alignment. Trim any excess material if necessary for a perfect fit.
- Reinstall the door panel and any trim pieces, then perform a final test of window operation and check for proper sealing and quiet operation.
