A precision-molded windshield weatherstrip seal engineered with an integrated trim groove to accept a WCR-605 lockstrip. This seal secures and cushions the windshield edge, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration while restoring an OEM-style fit. Made from UV- and ozone-resistant EPDM rubber, it holds its shape and sealing properties over time. Designed for windshields that use the WCR-605 lockstrip profile, it’s ideal for restoration projects and replacement installations where a reliable, long-lasting seal is required.
Features:
- Designed for windshields that use the WCR-605 lockstrip profile (fits applications using the WCR-605 channel).
- Made from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant EPDM rubber for long service life and weather resistance.
- Integrated trim groove accepts WCR-605 lockstrip for secure glass retention and OEM-style appearance.
- Helps prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and minimize vibration for a quieter, tighter seal.
- Straightforward replacement part for restoration and repair of classic and aftermarket windshield installs.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim and paint with masking tape and drop cloths.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and lockstrip: pry out the seal, cut away any adhesive, and lift out the metal lockstrip if present.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield edge and the vehicle channel/pinch weld with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and rust. Repair any rust or damage before installing the new seal.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the vehicle channel to verify fit and orientation. Confirm the trim groove faces the glass edge where the lockstrip will seat.
- If using a separate lockstrip, slide the lockstrip onto the windshield edge per the lockstrip manufacturer’s instructions. For two-piece installs, lubricate the groove with soapy water or silicone lubricant to ease assembly.
- Position the new seal onto the vehicle channel, starting at the top center and working toward each corner. Press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, making sure it seats fully and evenly around the opening.
- Insert and seat the windshield (with lockstrip attached) into the weatherstrip groove. Use suction cups to safely guide and set the glass; apply steady, even pressure so the lockstrip snaps and seats into the groove.
- If adhesive or urethane is required, apply per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions and allow proper cure time. Wipe away excess lubricant or soapy water and inspect the seal all the way around for even compression and proper seating.
- Reinstall any trim pieces, scuttle covers, or molding, and allow any adhesive to fully cure before driving. Check for leaks after 24–48 hours and make any minor adjustments if needed.
