Instructions:
- Measure the channel or edge length to determine required seal length; add 1/4"–1/2" for overlap if needed.
- Cut the bulb seal to length with a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors on a straight surface.
- Clean the installation surface and channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol; remove dirt, old sealant and oils and allow to dry.
- If the channel is tight, apply a light coating of soapy water or spray lubricant to the channel or the seal's wire-core to ease installation.
- Align the U-channel opening over the flange or edge and press the seal onto the flange, starting at one end and working along the length. Use a rubber mallet or push firmly by hand to seat the wire-core into the channel.
- For corners or tight radii, warm the rubber with a heat gun or hair dryer on low to increase flexibility, then form the seal into place.
- Trim any excess material and overlap or butt joints as required. For permanent installations, apply a bead of adhesive inside the channel or along the flange before seating the seal.
- Inspect the seal along its entire length to ensure even compression and full engagement; test for leaks and re-secure ends or joints if necessary.
