An 18-piece rear window molding clip kit designed to replace worn, broken or missing retainers that secure the rear glass molding. The clips ensure proper alignment and a secure fit of the trim, helping prevent water leaks, wind noise and trim vibration while restoring a factory-fresh appearance. Engineered for durability and reliable retention, this kit is ideal for restoration projects and routine maintenance—check vehicle-specific fitment to confirm compatibility with your make and model.
Features:
- Check vehicle-specific fitment before purchase to ensure compatibility with your year, make and model.
- Complete 18-piece set includes the common clip styles required to replace most rear window molding retainers.
- Made from durable, corrosion- and UV-resistant materials to withstand weather and highway vibration.
- Designed to restore OEM fit and finish; secures trim to prevent leaks, rattles and trim sag.
- Snap-in style for straightforward replacement without modifying existing trim or glass.
- Ideal for automotive restoration, maintenance, and trim repair projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.
- Carefully remove the rear window molding or trim as needed using a trim removal tool to expose the clip locations.
- Remove any remaining old clips or broken pieces with needle-nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver; protect surrounding trim and paint.
- Clean the molding channel and clip mounting area with isopropyl alcohol and a cloth to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive.
- Lay out the new clips from the kit and match each clip to its intended mounting location on the molding or channel.
- Press each clip into the channel or onto the molding until it snaps or seats fully—ensure proper orientation for retention.
- Reinstall the molding by aligning it with the clips and pressing firmly along the length until all clips engage and the trim sits flush.
- If needed, apply a small bead of silicone or panel adhesive at specific retention points to secure clips that will experience extra stress (optional).
- Inspect the installation for even fitment, test for wind noise or movement, and trim any excess material if required.
- Allow any sealant or adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving.
