The Precision Metal Stamped Molding Clip 9882 is a heavy-duty, OEM-style stamped metal clip engineered to securely fasten exterior and interior moldings, trim, and retainers. Its precision-formed design provides consistent fit and alignment while resisting vibration and loosening over time. Finished with a corrosion-resistant coating, this clip delivers long-lasting durability and reliable performance, making it ideal for restoration projects, maintenance, and replacement of worn or missing fasteners. Simple push-in installation and robust construction help restore factory fit and finish quickly.
Features:
  • Stamped metal construction for strength and consistent fit.
  • Secures exterior and interior moldings, trim, and retainers.
  • Corrosion-resistant finish extends service life in harsh environments.
  • Low-profile design helps maintain factory appearance and alignment.
  • Push-in installation for fast, tool-assisted replacement during restoration or maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 10-30 minutes (per panel depending on access and number of clips)
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or flat pry tool
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Wire brush or cloth for cleaning
  • Safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Identify the correct clip location by comparing to the original clip or the molding channel.
  2. Carefully remove the molding or trim piece using a trim removal tool to expose the clip area; work slowly to avoid damage.
  3. Remove the old or broken clip with needle-nose pliers or by prying it out; clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a wire brush or cloth.
  4. Align the new 9882 clip with the mounting hole or channel, ensuring the clip orientation matches the original.
  5. Push the clip into the hole until it seats fully — you should feel or hear a secure engagement. Use a rubber mallet gently if additional force is needed.
  6. Reinstall the molding or trim by aligning it over the clips and pressing until it snaps into place. Verify fit and adjust as needed.
  7. Inspect all replaced clips and test for secure retention and correct alignment before finishing the job.
