A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip designed to replace the WCR 1089 seal and secure steel trim with an integrated trim groove. This seal creates a reliable barrier against water, wind, and road noise while holding exterior steel trim in place, helping prevent interior water damage and rust. Made for restoration and maintenance projects, the profile replicates original fit and function for vehicles that use the WCR 1089 configuration. Durable, weather-resistant material resists UV and ozone exposure for long service life and installs with common hand tools for a straightforward replacement.
Features:
- Fits vehicles requiring the WCR 1089 rear window seal profile — verify OEM part reference for exact application.
- Integrated trim groove designed to accept steel trim for a secure, factory‑style appearance.
- Premium weather-resistant rubber formulation resists UV, ozone, and temperature breakdown.
- Seals out water, wind, and dust to reduce leaks and cabin noise.
- OEM-style profile for correct alignment and an authentic restoration fit.
- Easy to install with basic tools; suitable for restoration and maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old rear window trim and weatherstrip carefully using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver to avoid damaging the channel.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris; let dry.
- Test-fit the new WCR 1089 weatherstrip along the channel to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- Lightly lubricate the seal lip with soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center of the opening, press the seal lip into the channel and work outward toward each corner, using a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly without deforming it.
- Seat the steel trim into the integrated groove as you progress, ensuring the trim is fully engaged in the groove and sits flush.
- If recommended for your vehicle, apply weatherstrip adhesive at the corners or any areas prone to lifting; follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Trim and tuck the seal ends for a neat fit, reinstall exterior trim pieces, and allow any adhesive to cure fully (typically 24 hours) before exposing to weather.
