Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, disconnect battery if needed for door electronics, and open the rear door fully.
- Remove the interior door panel or access cover to expose the existing door hardware and fasteners.
- Inspect the existing mounting surfaces and hardware; remove worn or damaged components and clean mounting areas of debris and old lubricant.
- Test-fit new hardware components to verify orientation and fit before final installation.
- Apply a light film of lubricant to moving contact points and install the new tempered hardware in the reverse order of removal, using the original fasteners where applicable.
- Hand-tighten fasteners first, then snug them with the appropriate socket or screwdriver. If torque specs are available from the vehicle manufacturer, tighten to those values.
- Cycle the door several times, checking for smooth operation, correct alignment, and absence of binding or excessive play. Make minor adjustments to strike or hinge positions as needed for even gaps.
- Reinstall the door panel or access cover, clean the work area, and perform a final functional check.
