A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip engineered for 2-door sedans to restore proper sealing and appearance. This weatherstrip features a built-in trim groove to accept factory or reproduction exterior molding, creating a secure seal that prevents water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration. Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, it delivers long-lasting performance and helps preserve interior trim and glass fitment during restoration or routine maintenance. Easy to test-fit and install for hobbyists and professional restorers alike.
Features:
- Fits many 2-door sedans — designed for rear window applications on 2Dr sedan bodies
- Durable weather-resistant rubber compound resists UV, ozone and temperature extremes
- Integrated trim groove accepts factory or reproduction exterior molding for a factory look
- Seals rear glass to prevent leaks, wind noise and water damage to interior panels
- Simple push-in installation for restoration or replacement projects; improves fit and finish
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove exterior trim/molding and the old weatherstrip carefully using plastic trim tools to avoid damaging the channel or glass.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner; remove old adhesive, dirt and debris and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel and verify orientation and alignment; note the trim-groove placement for molding.
- Apply a light coat of soapy water or weatherstrip lubricant to the sealing lip and channel to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center of the opening, press the weatherstrip into the channel and work outward toward each corner, ensuring the seal seats fully and evenly.
- Reinstall the exterior trim or molding into the groove, using gentle pressure or a rubber mallet if needed to snap it into place without distorting the seal.
- Inspect the entire perimeter for uniform seating and correct any high or low spots. Reattach any interior trim removed and allow any lubricant to dry before testing for leaks.
