A precision-molded glass run channel designed for left- or right-hand door applications to guide and seal automotive side windows. This channel secures the glass, reduces wind noise and vibration, and prevents water intrusion that can damage door internals. Crafted from durable EPDM rubber with internal reinforcement, it restores proper window alignment and sash feel for a factory-like fit. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the part is built to resist weathering, maintain flexibility, and provide long-lasting reliability while remaining simple to install with basic hand tools.
Features:
- Left- or right-hand glass run channel for side window guide and seal
- Constructed from durable EPDM rubber with internal reinforcement for long life
- Prevents water intrusion and reduces wind noise and glass vibration
- Restores proper window alignment and sash feel for factory-like fit
- Straightforward replacement for restoration or routine door maintenance
- Flexible material resists cracking, shrinking, and weather degradation
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45 minutes - 1.5 hours
Instructions:
- Fully lower the window glass (if possible) and disconnect the vehicle battery if recommended by the vehicle service manual.
- Remove interior door panel: pry off trim, remove screws and clips, and carefully lift the panel away to expose the inner door cavity.
- Peel back the moisture/vapor barrier as needed to access the glass run channel area, keeping the barrier intact for resealing later.
- Carefully loosen or remove any window retainers and support the glass with masking tape or a wedge so it will not fall during channel replacement.
- Remove the old glass run channel by pulling it out of the channel track; cut and remove any adhesive or remaining rubber using a utility knife, and clean the metal track surface.
- Test-fit the new glass run channel to ensure correct orientation (left or right) and smooth insertion; trim length if manufacturer instructions indicate trimming is allowed.
- Apply a small amount of silicone spray or rubber lubricant to the new channel to ease installation, then press the channel into the door track starting at one end and working along its length until fully seated.
- Re-seat the window glass into the new channel, ensuring the glass moves smoothly up and down without binding; reattach window retainers and test operation several times.
- Reinstall the moisture barrier with appropriate sealant or adhesive if needed, then reattach the interior door panel and all trim components.
- Perform a final check for proper glass alignment, smooth operation, and no gaps that would allow water or wind noise; make adjustments if necessary.
