Precision Vent Glass Frame, Left Hand VGF 1110 73 LHS is a direct-fit left-hand vent window frame engineered for select 1973 vehicles. It secures and aligns the vent glass, provides a mounting surface for weatherstrips and seals, and restores proper fit and function for classic door assemblies. Built to resist corrosion and maintain factory geometry, this replacement frame offers durable, reliable performance and straightforward installation for restorations and repairs.
Features:
- Fits left-hand (driver-side) vent glass openings on select 1973 models — verify vehicle fitment before ordering.
- Stamped, corrosion-resistant metal construction for long-term durability.
- Secures and aligns vent glass to factory specifications to prevent wind noise and water intrusion.
- Provides correct mounting surface for weatherstrips and seals, simplifying restoration.
- Direct replacement part for repair projects — restores proper operation and appearance.
- Designed for straightforward installation with commonly available hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, disconnect battery if needed for power windows/locks and roll window to a safe position.
- Remove interior door panel and any trim or brackets blocking access to the vent glass assembly using screwdrivers and a trim tool.
- Use masking tape to secure the vent glass in place or have an assistant support it to prevent movement when removing the frame.
- Carefully remove the fasteners or rivets holding the existing vent glass frame and detach any attached weatherstrip or seals. Keep hardware that will be reused or replace if corroded.
- If required, separate the vent glass from the old frame following manufacturer cut or release points; handle glass carefully to avoid breakage.
- Position the new left-hand vent glass frame into the door opening and align mounting holes with the door body. Apply rust inhibitor to bare metal contact points if desired.
- Reattach the vent glass to the new frame (or install new glass/seals) and loosely install fasteners. Check alignment and operation, then tighten fasteners to secure the frame.
- Install new or existing weatherstrip onto the frame, lubricate moving seals with silicone lubricant, and test vent window operation to ensure smooth movement and proper sealing.
- Reinstall interior trim, door panel, and any removed hardware. Perform a final check for proper alignment, water tightness, and noise reduction.
