The Precision Windshield Weatherstrip Seal WBL 330 is a non-grooved windshield sealing profile designed to secure glass, prevent water intrusion, and reduce wind noise on vehicles that require a weatherstrip without a trim groove. Constructed from weather-resistant rubber compound, this seal provides dependable protection against moisture, UV degradation, and temperature cycling. Its OEM-style profile makes it ideal for restorations and replacement projects where a clean, durable seal and straightforward installation are required. Verify dimensions against your vehicle's windshield flange before purchase to ensure proper fit.
Features:
- EPDM rubber compound resists ozone, UV, and temperature extremes for long-lasting performance.
- Non-grooved profile fits windshields that do not use a trim groove or retainers.
- Secures windshield edge to prevent leaks, rattles, and wind noise.
- Easy to trim and seat for faster installation during restorations or replacements.
- OEM-style cross-section for authentic fit and appearance on classic and replacement glass.
- Ideal for restoration projects and direct replacement where a trim groove is not used.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes (excluding windshield removal/installation time)
Instructions:
- If windshield is installed, remove glass according to vehicle procedures (use suction cups and proper support).
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any adhesive residue from the windshield flange using isopropyl alcohol and a plastic scraper; ensure flange is clean and dry.
- Compare the new WBL 330 seal to the old part for length and profile; trim excess length if necessary with a utility knife.
- Dry-fit the seal over the flange and around the windshield opening to confirm orientation and fit before applying any adhesive.
- If your application uses butyl tape or adhesive, apply a continuous bead to the flange per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Lightly lubricate the inner bead of the weatherstrip with soapy water or silicone spray to ease seating.
- Starting at the top center of the windshield opening, press the seal onto the flange and work outward toward each corner, using a plastic trim tool or your thumbs to fully seat the profile.
- Use a rubber mallet gently against a block or the plastic trim tool to ensure the seal is uniformly seated without deformation.
- Trim any excess seal material at the end, then wipe away any excess lubricant and inspect the seal line for gaps or kinks.
- Reinstall the windshield (or retainers) per vehicle specifications and allow any adhesive to cure fully before driving; perform a water test to confirm leak-free installation.
